Police Reports: June 29 - July 3

  • A case of breaking and entering by force and larceny was reported on June 30, 2018 on the 400 block of N. Columbia St at 11:00 p.m., according the Chapel Hill Police reports. 

The suspect entered through a window and stole over $2,700 worth of items including 20 paris of shoes valued at $1,200, an Xbox and a 12G Mosburg Shfotgun. 

  • Incidents of obtaining money under false pretense and impersonating an officer were reported on June 29, 2018 on the 100 block of Stateside Dr at 4:00 p.m., according to Chapel Hill Police reports.

The suspect posed as a detective to pertain $1,314 from the victim.

  • An assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, vandalism and driving while impaired was reported on June 30, 2018 at 2:25 a.m. on the 400 block of W Franklin St, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.

The suspect struck a pedestrian while driving impaired. The accident caused damage to two cars whose combined values are $10,000. 

  • It was reported that someone was discharging pyrotechnics/fireworks on the 100 block of Forsyth Dr/Legion Rd at 9:16 p.m. on July 1, 2018, according to Chapel Hill Police reports. 

The suspect was shooting off fireworks in the street. 

  • A case of breaking and entering with no force was reported on July 2, 2018 at 10:46 p.m. on the 3100 block of Drew Hill Ln, according to Chapel Hill Police reports. 

The suspect entered through an unlocked bedroom window and stole items whose total value was reported as $7,400. Items included $2,000 worth of cash, $1,500 worth of video games, $3,400 worth of jewelry and $500 in gaming systems.
