To the Editor:
I am a retired minister, 78 years old, gay and white. I agree completely with your point that I have no right to use the N-word (nor would I ever choose to). I also feel unless someone is gay they have no right to call me by the Q-word. When I was growing up and in my adult years if someone called me queer they were about to attack me with a baseball bat.
