Two killed in shooting at UNC Family Medicine Center in Durham on Monday

Two people were killed in an a shooting at the UNC Family Medicine Center on Mayfair Street in Durham on Monday morning, according to Durham police. 

The victims were identified as Victoria Amanda St. Hillaire, 28, and Lequintin Ford, 33. Investigators said the two had a prior dating relationship, and Hillaire was an employee of the clinic. Investigators believe Ford was the shooter.

Phil Bridges, director of communications for UNC Health Care, said in a statement that police were on the scene as of Monday afternoon and there was no active threat to the community.  

The clinic, which specializes in primary care and sports medicine, will be closed for the rest of the week following the shooting. The clinic was already planned to be closed Thursday and Friday. 

Durham police are investigating the shooting, according to the City of Durham's website.
