To our readers:

First of all, we hope you are staying safe and healthy. As all of you know, we are living in uncertain times as the coronavirus pandemic deepens nationwide. Maintaining a sense of community is more important than ever — especially as we adopt social distancing measures to contain the outbreak as much as possible.

Cities and towns all over the country are affected by this pandemic in different ways. In North Carolina alone, there are hundreds of cases.

Most of the coverage surrounding the pandemic has been about numbers — the number of cases, the rate of mortality, the impact on our economy.

But, we know that these numbers don’t tell the whole story of how our lives are being affected by this pandemic. People are losing jobs, students are being kept out of school and workers in industries, such as retail and health care, are working overtime to keep us safe.

When we look back on this period of time in 50 years, it will be important that this pandemic, and how it has affected our daily lives, is well documented. Basically, we’re trying to paint a more complete picture of this historic moment.

That being said, we want to hear from you! We want to know what you’re up to, how you’re coping, your at-home workout plan, which philanthropic causes you’d recommend supporting and so on.

Send us your thoughts, whether it’s an op-ed, letter, cartoon or even a video! All forms of multimedia are welcome.
