According to our readers, the best place to watch a game on campus is none other than the Dean Dome itself.
While it’s formal name is the Dean E. Smith Center, the Dean Dome is an indoor sports arena that holds more than 20,000 people and is most popular for hosting North Carolina basketball at home, as well as the junior varsity basketball team, Late Night with Roy and some departmental graduations.
The Dean Dome is a historic site paying tribute to legendary UNC basketball coaches Dean Smith and Roy Williams. So, even though the town of Chapel Hill boasts many restaurants and sports bars perfect for game day, nothing beats the opportunity to be on the scene during a big win.
