GET CREATIVE CLOUD
Sign up to get access to all Creative Cloud apps for free with your UNC ID.
We get it – college students love free stuff.
But it isn’t just T-shirts and water bottles.
As a UNC student, you have free access to a number of services that normally come at a cost and will significantly change the game for you from classwork to your social life. Here’s a few things you can get with your Onyen.
Adobe Creative Cloud
At the top of our list is access to the entire Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. With more than 20 apps for design, photography, video and web projects, Adobe Creative Cloud is a resource for students to build creative class projects or simply create for fun.
Here are just a few of the apps you’ll have access to when you download the Creative Suite through UNC Information Technology Services:
Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is a great tool for photo editing, animation and graphic design projects. Use this application to combine and edit photos, edit videos, design websites and mobile apps or create posters or banners.
Illustrator
Illustrator is a design-based application that allows you to create logos, drawings, graphics and more to be used in multiple print and digital forms.
InDesign
InDesign is a design and layout application that can be used to create all kinds of documents, from reports to posters and interactive PDFs.
Premiere Pro
Premiere Pro allows you to create and edit videos, add effects and alter sound. It is a useful resource to have next time your professor assigns a video project.
LinkedIn Learning
Another service UNC students can access is LinkedIn Learning, a website that offers a variety of video courses taught by industry experts. Students can take free courses in anything from technology to marketing, graphic design and web development. LinkedIn Learning also offers learning paths, which include a series of courses to build skills in specific areas.
Once you’ve completed a course, LinkedIn Learning awards you with a certificate that you can add to your LinkedIn profile.
HBO
If you’re a student on the hunt for a new show to binge watch, remember that you get free access to HBO Go with your Onyen. Simply visit HBO Go’s website and select UNC as your service provider, then login with your student Onyen and password.
Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is available for free download on both Windows and Mac products with your student Onyen. Many classes at UNC require that students turn in their work using Microsoft programs, so it’s worth it to take advantage of this free offer.
With Office you get full access to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.
The New York Times
As a UNC student, you get a free subscription to The New York Times. What could cost you as much as $17 a month, students can take advantage of now for free. Visit NYT Access to make an account.
WordPress
Creating a website can be expensive, but if you’ve ever wanted to create a personal website or needed to build one for a class project, WordPress is available for free to students who sign in with their Onyen. Visit TarHeels.live to create a new site.
