Al’s Burger Shack scores again! For the second year in a row, Al’s Burger Shack earned the Carolina’s Finest award for the best burger.
The burger shack is committed to making delicious burgers from locally sourced ingredients. Served with the finest southern hospitality, Al’s provides food and drink made with freshness and sustainability in mind.
All of Al’s beef is natural, hormone-free and antibiotic-free from cattle raised in the pastures of North Carolina. The perfectly melted cheese is sourced from local dairies, and the vegetable toppings come from local farms. Overall, Al’s offers food for Tar Heels sourced directly from the Tar Heel state.
“Every bite of our burgers takes you home,” said owner Al Bowers. “It is a combination of all the things that brings nostalgia to everybody.”
The variety of burgers offered at Al’s keeps frequent customers from getting bored. With a menu of nine different burgers, Al’s knows how to keep the flavors alive and add new ones to change things up. You can opt for the classic burger, spice things up with the Paco burger or choose the vegetarian Kaarin. If you really want the tastiness to last, most burgers can be sized up to the “BIG AL SIZE,” which includes a double patty.
“Their burgers are incredible and seasoned really well,” said Perla Jimenez, a UNC-Chapel Hill sophomore. “Their customer service is also really enjoyable; the people there are extremely nice and they care for their customers.”
