The University will move into Condition 1 Friday at  7 p.m. until Saturday at 12 p.m. due to forecasted adverse weather conditions, according to an Alert Carolina notification.

Chapel Hill is expected to get one to two inches of snow late Friday evening. Ahead of the winter weather, UNC Facilities crews have been working to pretreat primary roads, walkways and building entrances on campus.

Condition 1 means classes remain on a regular schedule but faculty members are allowed to adjust their class times and provide alternative work in the event students can not safely attend classes. Mandatory faculty and staff must still report to work, according to the Alert Carolina. Non-mandatory faculty and staff can use personal time if they choose not to report to work.

According to the notification,  any further changes will be given by 10 a.m. Saturday.
