The North Carolina baseball team’s game at Louisville was postponed Sunday due to a bomb threat near Jim Patterson Stadium, a Louisville spokesperson confirmed.
The threat originated from an online forum, and at around 2:42 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the threat through a 911 call.
Shortly after, the umpire crew brought both managers to home plate and the teams left the field with the Tar Heels leading 5-1 in the top of the sixth inning.
Roughly 2,000 fans left the stadium and the sheriff and police departments are now evaluating the scene. No announcement has been made regarding status of the game.
