Faced with the stress of classes, jobs, internships and life, college students often turn to nostalgic or sentimental food. From pasta salad to "blue Doritos," senior audio & video desk staffer Emma Kate Lauf asked students in the Pit, "What's your go-to comfort food?"
Grace Wilkinson, sophomore, major undecided
“I hate to say it, but it really is a tuna melt. I think with banana peppers, there’s a little crunch, and my mom would always make it. There’s always just a big vat of tuna salad on our kitchen counter. And I love something that’s a little bit hated because there’s always more of it left over for me.”
Ally Henson, senior media and journalism and political science double major
“I’d say my comfort food is probably some ramen with eggs, cheese, some hot sauce, maybe add some vegetables. I just put it in the microwave. I'm not putting it on the stove. I'm not waiting for it.”
Landon Jobe, sophomore media and journalism major
“Blue Doritos.”
Kaia Thompson, junior political science major
“I like mac and cheese, like a nice baked, homemade, creamy mac and cheese. Or sushi.”
