Former UNC men’s basketball player Harrison Ingram was selected in the NBA draft as the No. 48 pick for the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday evening.
With this pick, Ingram is the first Tar Heel to be selected in the draft since 2021.
After transferring from Stanford, the forward made an immediate impact on the Tar Heel during his junior season. Ingram averaged a career-high 12.2 points per game and shot 38.5 percent from behind the arc.
During his third season of college basketball, the forward also led the ACC in rebounds with 10.9 per game during league play. He averaged 8.8 rebounds per game during the regular season, leading to 11 double-double performances.
With his success, Ingram received ACC third-team selection honors and helped push North Carolina to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament during the 2023-24 campaign.
