On Friday, the N.C. Court of Appeals unanimously ruled that the UNC mobile One Card is not a valid form of voter identification.

Late last week, an N.C. judge denied the request from the Republican National Committee and the N.C. Republican Party to prevent the mobile One Card as a valid voter ID. The plaintiffs appealed the case to the Court of Appeals, who made their decision today.

The original complaint was filed on Sept. 12 against the North Carolina State Board of Elections, stating that a mobile ID would make it easier for ineligible voters to vote and that North Carolina law prohibits using mobile devices during voting.

According to court documents, the UNC mobile one card will not be a valid ID for the Nov. 5 general election.
