Five-star forward Caleb Wilson, the No. 6 overall prospect in the Class of 2025, announced his commitment to UNC basketball early Friday morning. Wilson chose UNC over offers from Ohio State, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and UCF.
The forward announced his decision on TNT after narrowing his decisions to Kentucky, Ohio State and UNC. After thanking family members, Wilson unzipped a black jacket to reveal a white-and-blue UNC shirt underneath on the Inside the NBA broadcast.
The 6-foot-9 forward took an unofficial visit to UNC in February 2024. In October, Wilson cancelled his official visit to Alabama to return to Chapel Hill. While there, the high school senior posted on X with the caption, "Back for seconds," while sporting a white North Carolina jersey.
Wilson attends Holy Innocents Episcopal High School in Atlanta, Georgia. He averages 18.1 points, 11.9 rebound, 4.2 assists and four blocks per game. The five-star has a 9-foot standing reach and a 7-foot-4 wingspan. He's known for his ability to guard multiple positions and versatility on the defensive side of the ball. He's also a developed rim protector.
Although he's not known for being a primary scorer, Wilson thrives in the secondary role and is growing offensively.
This is the third recruit head coach Hubert Davis has secured in the 2025 class, alongside guards Isaiah Denis and Derek Dixon. Wilson is the first to rank in the top-10.
