Co-founders Steven and Marty didn’t stumble upon the idea for CramBetter by accident. Both experienced the frustrations of traditional tutoring options throughout their academic journeys. Private tutoring is often unaffordable– ranging from $40 to $200 per hour– and inaccessible during the hours students need the help the most before a big exam. While campus resources are a good outlet, most of the tutors are underpaid undergrad students themselves with limited teaching experience and availability. Frustrated by these traditional options for tutoring, Steven and Marty had a clear vision: “bring the professional education experience to lots of students 24 hours a day at a low cost.”
