Boy, did we jump the gun on this one.
If you visited dailytarheel.com right after the buzzer sounded in Thursday night's NIT championship game, you probably saw this:
We try to plan ahead whenever possible so that we can get you the stories and photos you want to read and see. That meant creating a template ahead of time we planned to use if UNC were to win the championship.
What we didn't plan for were fumbling fingers, and we accidentally sent the template live, complete with a banner announcing UNC's "win." Whoops.
Some have already called the paper out for jinxing the team by predicting a win against Dayton (our last three predictions incorrectly called for the Heels to lose). Making just a a "UNC wins" banner ahead of time probably didn't help either.
