In a post yesterday, Canvas suggested that the After Party for the Andy Warhol Silver Party Gala — the tail end of the Ackland Art Museum’s big blowout fundraising party on Nov. 6 — was a sort of lower-priced compensation for the pricier parts of the evening.
Turns out, Canvas was wrong.
Emily Bowles, director of communications for the Ackland, got up with Canvas in an email today to talk about the bits and pieces of the After Party that are sure to make it a rocking party by itself.
“The After Party was always intended to be an amazing late-night party in and of itself, and is not a way of us ‘compensating’ for having several more expensive levels of tickets,” Bowles said in an email.
“The audience is different, the entertainment is different and it has its own ticket for this reason.”
Tickets for the After Party — which starts at 10 p.m. and goes on to 2 a.m. — run at $50. With live music from Chapel Hill up and comers The Love Language, a midnight dance party and more hidden surprises, the After Party does indeed look like a solid way to cap an evening, even if you didn’t get tickets for the gala and dinner before.
Canvas will be there getting down with the Love Language — will you?
