It recently came to our attention here at Canvas that up and coming “indie-rock-meets-hip-hop” artist K.Flay will be opening for Passion Pit at this month’s Homecoming Concert.
And by “came to our attention,” we mean that “her publicity people called us Thursday and told us that.”
The fine folks at CUAB — who put on the Oct. 29 concert at the Carmichael Auditorium with the help of the Carolina Athletics Association — have been waiting to let us know about the opening act or acts.
But thanks to this random phone call, we now know.
In the press release sent our way, we learned that:
1) Her debut EP is coming out Oct. 12.
2) A lot of obscure music blogs and magazines really like her stuff.
3) She is from Brooklyn.
4) She has a variety of musical talents and abilities.
We’ll have more on this as we learn more about it, but know this, Passion Pit fans: there’s a lady indie rapper opening up your concert, and she’s got some interesting lyrical choices.
