This musical comedy is about a 13-year-old science prodigy whom the U.S. government asks to secretly construct a superweapon for the coming war. LAB! Theatre premieres this main stage production tonight.

The big band sound of 2012 Grammy Award-winning Christian McBride and the Inside Straight band makes up the marquee concert in the 35th annual Carolina Jazz Festival.

Activated Art: An Evening of Ekphrastic Theatre

Four creative writing professors from UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC-Wilmington have written one-act plays inspired by art in the Ackland. These plays will be performed in the galleries.

“Miss Representation” film screening and discussion

UNC Eating Disorders Program will host a screening of the “Miss Representation” documentary, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The film exposes how mainstream media present women and promote body dissatisfaction among women.

The Successful Artist’s Career Guide: Margaret Peot

This interactive workshop on being a freelance visual artist will be led by Broadway fabric painter Margaret Peot. The workshop will feature artist interviews, personal stories, self-reflective worksheets and practical information.
