Dive Recs (5/23 to 5/30): Things are heating up

Album from the Vaults:

Daft Punk, Human After All: This album was released all the way back in 2005. Yes, it’s actually been only six years since the last Daft Punk album – and the score from “Tron” doesn’t count (even if it’s pretty good). Originally, fans griped about the albums repetitiveness, but after the duo took their music on tour, Daft Punk had fans jumping back on the bandwagon with their intense special effects. It’s summer, and if you have a car, this is perfect for cruising in with the windows down.

Movie from the Vaults:

“The Truman Show”: Jim Carey takes on one of his more prominent roles as Truman Burbank. The movie was both fun, and philosophical, as it centers itself around a man who is unknowingly being watched by an entire world of people. The movie is one of the better, simple mind-twists in cinema. It’s a movie that gets you thinking without you actually know that you’re still being entertained at the same time. The ending of the movie is an extremely powerful scene.
