TOW3RS/Estrangers/Cassis Orange
Kings, Raleigh
Doors: 9:00 pm / Show: 9:30 pm, $6
Carrboro’s TOW3RS return after a brief hiatus to lead this jam packed local bill. The band’s pleasant WYATT EP, released last year, spans catchy guitar rock and playful synth-pop. Winston-Salem’s Estrangers package vintage hooks into concise pop exercises, exploring the Summery melodies of days past. Cassis Orange, hailing from Durham, will open the show with its emotive, lo-fi indie pop.
Saturday, April 20
Metz
Local 506, Chapel Hill
Doors: 8:30 pm / Show: 9:00 pm, $9-$11
Canada’s Metz play sludgy shoegaze, incorporating thick, fuzzed out bass riffs and confident backbeats. While its feedback-inducing guitar jams certain pack a punch when it comes to volume, Metz knows how to write a catchy tune, with front man Alex Edkins’ screaming and shouting his desperate melodies with garage rock fervor. Also hailing from Canada, Toronto’s Odonis Odonis will lend their raucous industrial punk to one of the show’s opening slots. Ben Davis & the Jetts will also perform.
