Name: Noah Katz
Year: Junior
Major: English with a Creative Writing minor
Hometown: Chapel Hill

Noah Is Wearing: Levis jeans, Clark’s oxfords, a Calvin Klein dress shirt, a Men’s Wearhouse tie, a vest from a thrift store and a brown belt.

While walking to the Pit, it was hard not to notice Noah’s dressy outfit amongst a sea of gym clothes. Noah describes his style as “good-looking nerd” — casual, yet classy. He tries to change his style up every so often and finds that thrift stores are a good resource for keeping his style current. Noah said he also reads the male fashion boards on Reddit for style inspiration and fashion advice. He finds his clothing by shopping online or going to Macy’s or thrift stores.

It’s rare to find good examples of male fashion on campus when most just stick to the standard dress shirt and khakis if they want to look polished. Noah’s outfit, however, is more current. The vest, tie and dress shirt combo give the outfit a classy, dressed-up look, while the dark-wash jeans give it a little edge and keep it from looking like a tuxedo at a high school prom. The matching belt and shoes give the outfit a tasteful finish. Noah’s outfit shows that going the extra mile to look nice really pays off.

Noah’s Style Advice: “Everyone should own a pair of dark jeans, your belt should match your shoes and don’t be afraid to look good.”
