I'm clumsy and I've made my peace with it.
All the way through elementary school my knees had strawberries from the number of times I tripped and hit concrete. When my middle school implemented a wellness period to make sure we stayed active during school, some of my teachers took to calling it "hurtness" because of the number of times I got injured by the great outdoors.
And my lack of grace hasn't disappeared with puberty. Last December I had to wear 17 Band-Aids on my feet after the DTH holiday party (though to be fair, this is because I thought it would be a really fun idea to wear slightly-too-tight high heels with my dress before I realized I would walk to the edge of Carrboro and back that night).
Because of this, I am personally thrilled that Chapel Hill is updating their sidewalks and roads to make them more walkable. The number of times I've stumbled on missing bricks walking across campus is truly horrifying, and while I don't expect to stop doing that I'd really like it if I could chill out a little bit.

QUICK HITS
- Students aren't the only ones coming home with bad report cards — schools get grades too. Fortunately for locals, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools score As and Bs at more than twice the statewide rate.
- The UNC Muslim Student Association has gotten approval from the Student Congress to open an external bank account. They'll use this account to raise money for a dedicated student center, which they saw a need for following the February 2015 Chapel Hill shooting.
- North Carolina has a shining future in solar energy. The state is ranked second in the nation for solar production, only falling behind California.
IN FOOTBALL GAMES AND SUSPENSIONS
UNC Football has its home opener on Saturday against James Madison. The Tar Heels are heavily favored to win — here's what to expect from the game. Head coach Larry Fedora says that the team hasn't had a meeting to discuss the allegations against junior linebacker Allen Artis and is treating his indefinite suspension like any other absence.
IN COMINGS AND GOINGS
A flyer posted in Ehringhaus dorm telling residents not to masturbate in the shower went viral on Twitter on Wednesday. According to the poster, semen clogged the drains and was a violation of the Honor Code. Sadly, UNC Housing was not responsible for the signs and has told the unknown jerk to beat it.
IN REASONS OUR UNIVERSITY IS HAUNTED
Old Chapel Hill Cemetery was vandalized ahead of this Sunday's ceremony to honor those buried in the historically African-American section of the cemetery. A gazebo was spray painted with the words "Devil White Race" and the graffiti was removed Thursday morning.
IN CAROLINA CLINTONS: THE SEQUEL
Hillary Clinton held a rally at UNC Greensboro on Thursday following her daughter's Wednesday visit to the Carrboro Democratic campaign office. This was her first event since her pneumonia incident in New York on Sunday, which she addressed at the packed rally along with the importance of voting and her Republican rival Donald Trump.
