DTH at a Glance: The LDOC edition

Happy LDOC, UNC! Though you may be fearing the fate of your grades in orgo, econ and even drama, don’t let that stop you from celebrating this weekend. Here’s the news to jumpstart your darty-ing:

(And remember, you miss 100 percent of the exams you sleep through, so don’t party too hard.)

QUICK HITS

  • “These are the good old days, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty to come.” UNC seniors are relishing the few days they have left as undergrads, but that doesn’t mean they’re wallowing in their sorrows with their caps and gowns.
  • “Diversity shouldn’t just be something you check off.” UNC has one of the lowest enrollment rates for Black students in the state, and it shows links to the level of comfort students of color feel when they arrive on campus.
  • Tripping in the Pit? This time it’s not because of the rain: students are honoring tradition by stealing bricks from pathways along campus, but UNC Police and Housing are cracking down on the petty theft.

ATH-ELITE

  • It’s more than just golf-claps for this natural-born competitor. Senior William Register reflects on how he became the golfer he is today, the challenges he faced, those won and lost, and how he will end his UNC golf career: strong
  • When six-year-old Alexa Graham picked up a tennis racket for the first time, she didn’t know she was making a career for herself. Now, the UNC tennis star continues to dominate the regular season, and hopes to bring home the ACC Women’s Tennis Championship.
  • The majority of the people at Boshamer Stadium on Wednesday night were expecting a UNC win… and that’s exactly what the baseball team provided, as they prepare for a big series this weekend against N.C. State.

SO LONG, FAREWELL
