Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
When I was 15, I had a French pen pal, because I apparently live the life of a fun preteen movie. The summer before sophomore year of high school, I went to France to visit her.
Unfortunately I never naturally got used to the time zone change, and my pen-pal family was too nice to wake me up, so I missed breakfast. However, whenever I woke up there was a big BOWL of coffee waiting for me.
That's right – A BOWL. Honestly the trip was amazing and full of ~culture~ but the shock of drinking that much coffee as a 15-year-old will stick with me for a while.
Speaking of coffee shocks, the Chase Hall Starbucks is being replaced with a Port City Java. Now everyone will have to walk to Franklin street to get their favorite Starbucks creation they have to have.
The Rundown
- One Durham STEAM and literacy camp had a very special lunch guest. N.C. First Lady Kristen Cooper dropped by to say hello and support the initiative.
- These volunteer groups are taking care of the community's elderly. Read some incredible stories about the impact a single visit can have.
The WayBack Machine
Back in 1992, the DTH had a weekend magazine called Omnibus. This particular cover got a bit ... edgy. Who's ready to bring punk back?
