North Carolina tight end Zack Pianalto will not play for the rest of the regular season after suffering a fractured right fibula at the ankle joint in UNC’s 44-10 win against Virginia on Saturday.
Pianalto injured his ankle a few minutes after scoring his first touchdown of the season. He has scored three touchdowns in his career at UNC, and in each game he has suffered an injury.
He will undergo additional evaluation before the need for surgery is determined.
The senior holds the school record for most receptions by a tight end with 94.
