JV basketball tops Harvard Business School 69-57

The North Carolina junior varsity men’s basketball team bested Harvard Business School on Sunday 69-57, improving its record to 4-0.

The Tar Heels started off strong in the first half, expanding their lead to 14 points, but Harvard ended up capitalizing off UNC turnovers to bring the game within three at half, 30-27.

In the second half, Zachary Richardson and Sasha Seymore helped spring a 21 run, giving the Tar Heels the largest lead of the game of 22 points.

But poor play and turnovers down the stretch once again plagued the
Tar Heels as they saw their lead dwindle to just eight with four minutes left in the second half. The Tar Heels were able to put the game out of reach in the final two minutes as Richardson buried the last of his three 3-pointers on the day.

The game’s leading scorers were Richardson and James Manor, with 15 and 14 points respectively, and Joe Paglivca with 12 points for Harvard.

Former Tar Heel, Will Johnson, also played well for Harvard with nine points off the bench.

The Tar Heel’s next game is against Pitt Community College Tuesday at 4:30pm.
