The North Carolina men’s basketball team is beating Mississippi Valley State 41-27 at halftime on the strength of ten points each from John Henson and Harrison Barnes.
UNC has struggled at the line so far at the Smith Center, making only eight of 19 free throws — a 42.1-percent clip.
But the Tar Heels have been strong in the paint, where they’ve scored 24 points. The Tar Heel freshmen have been getting significant time, but only P.J. Hairston has put points across, as he sunk the only UNC 3-pointer of the half.
This is the first time the UNC and Mississippi Valley State basketball teams have faced each other.
