Happy Wednesday, everyone! Each week, we like to bring you an update on what teams from around the ACC have been up to.
- Let’s start things off on a lighthearted note with this video of the Duke Wrestling team dancing to PSY’s “Gangam-Style.” What they lack in synchronization they make up for in enthusiasm, and, in one dude’s case, with a mullet.
- No. 4 Florida State defeated then-No.10 Clemson last weekend in a contest to determine the ACC’s predominant football powerhouse. The Seminoles demonstrated that Clemson’s air attack could be stopped. Quarterback EJ Manuel’s 380-yard performance was enough to earn him ACC Player of the Week honors.
- Georgia Tech surprised each and every one of the Sports Desk’s pickers in an otherwise predictable week of picks by losing to Miami, albeit in overtime. The Hurricanes first led by 19, then trailed by 17, and then scored 23 unanswered points to finally overcome the Yellow Jackets.
- Maryland women’s soccer player Haley Brock is on a scoring rampage. She was awarded her second consecutive ACC Player of the Week award after posting two goals and an assist against Duke and Wake Forest. She leads the league in conference goals with five.
- Wake Forest defeated Army 49-37, putting up nearly 50 points just one week removed from being shut out 52-0 at the hands of Florida State.
