Here’s what the Tar Heels have been up to:

  • This writer says that UNC was fast but not smart on Saturday.
  • To prevent further scandal, Chancellor Holden Thorp said that the relationship between academics and athletics must improve at UNC, Assistant University Editor Liz Crampton writes.
  • The North Carolina women’s soccer team scored a whopping nine goals in two games this weekend, Assistant Sports Editor Robbie Harms writes. David Adler writes that the Tar Heels have found an offensive rhythm without their best scorers.
  • The UNC field hockey team lived up to its No. 1 ranking during its weekend road trip, Andrew Romaine writes.
  • With two goals from Martin Murphy, the UNC men’s soccer team took down Virginia Tech on Saturday, improving to 4-0 and on the season, Assistant Sports Editor Henry Gargan writes.
  • The strong weekend for UNC olympic sports continued with the volleyball team, which swept the Carolina Classic, Grace Raynor writes.
  • However, Matt Laurino writes that the men’s golf team had a rough start to its season.
