The No. 2 North Carolina men’s soccer team (9-1-1) leads Davidson College (5-5-1) 1-0 at halftime.
After a mostly scoreless half, freshman forward Danny Garcia chipped a shot in over Davidson’s goalkeeper, Matt Pacifici in the 41st minute to score the lone goal.
Garcia took three shots — two of them on frame — in the first half.
UNC has had plenty of scoring chances, with three of nine shots on goal.
The Tar Heels have controlled most of the game and have prevented Davidson from taking a shot.
UNC’s Cameron Brown went down with an apparent knee injury midway through the half. But after taking a quick break, played the rest of the game.
