• The UNC football team stuffed Miami on Saturday. Sports Editor Brandon Moree writes that defense played a major role in the Tar heel victory.
• As a result of the 18-14 win, UNC’s Jonathan Cooper and Tre Boston were honored as ACC Players of the Week. Moreover, the team received votes in the AP Top 25 poll.
• (Raleigh) News & Observer writer Andrew Carter took a look at linebacker Tommy Heffernan and the heartbreaking loss of his friend.
• Men’s soccer player Rob Lovejoy made quite the splash in his return from injury, notching a hat trick in the Tar Heels’ 3-0 win against the College of Charleston, Matthew Cox writes.
