- NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick presented UNC wrestler Nick Heilmann with a full scholarship on Monday, marking the beginning of the Kevin Harvick Foundation’s three-year commitment to annually award a full scholarship to one UNC student athlete in need.
- The UNC football team will face a tough challenge trying to slow down Duke wide receiver Conner Vernon in the matchup between the two teams this week, Andrew Carter of the (Raleigh) News & Observer writes.
- Speaking of the matchup, the UNC football team looks to maintain the Victory Bell, which is awarded to the winner of the UNC-Duke football game. According to Durham Herald-Sun writer Harold Gutmann, the Victory Bell has been in UNC’s possession for 21 of the past 22 years.
- UNC men’s soccer coach Carlos Somoano worries the fear of another injury is lingering in the mind of Andy Craven as the junior recovers from a strained hamstring, Jonathan LaMantia writes.
- Former UNC point guard Stillman White is ready for a new calling, ESPN Writer Robbi Pickeral writes.
- James Michael McAdoo, sophomore forward on the men’s basketball team, was selected by ACC coaches as apart of the preseason All-ACC team.
