Welcome to another edition of Tracking the Tar Heels.
Here’s what the Tar Heels have been up to:
- The North Carolina women’s soccer team was able to beat Boston College 1-0 on Thursday behind a goal by Ranee Premji, Dylan Howlett writes. After going with a two-goalie rotation for much of the season, coach Anson Dorrance played goalkeeper Adelaide Gay for the full 90 minutes, Assistant Sports Editor Robbie Harms writes.
- The Virginia Tech football team is coming to UNC looking for a return to form. Durham Herald-Sun writer Harold Gutmann writes that Hokies quarterback Logan Thomas could present a big problem for the Tar Heels.
- Here’s the lowdown for Saturday’s game from Sports Editor Brandon Moree.
- Great news for UNC basketball coach Roy Williams: The tumor on his left kidney is also non-cancerous.
- Robbie Harms caught up with former Tar Heel baseball player Adam Greenberg, who returned to the majors for one at-bat after getting hit in the head by a pitch in his first appearance seven years ago.
- Freshman middle blocker Paige Neuenfeldt didn’t plan on playing college volleyball until she started getting recruiting letters as a freshman in high school. Now a freshman in college, she has excelled with the Tar Heels, Grace Raynor writes.
