UNC leads McNeese State at the half

After a disappointing loss to Texas on Wednesday, North Carolina has jumped out to a roaring start against McNeese State, leading the Cowboys 54-23 at the half.

The Tar Heels shot just three of 19 from behind the arc in the loss to Texas, but have already made eight of 17 triples in the first half.

Leslie McDonald came off the bench and leads all scorers with 11 after shooting three-for-six from behind the arc. Guard Reggie Bullock has nine points, all coming from deep.

After experimenting with different players starting in the fifth and final spot, Desmond Hubert was awarded the starting spot. He scored the first points for the Tar Heels on a dunk off a pass from James Michael McAdoo.

UNC had assists on 18 of 20 baskets in the first half. Freshman point guard Marcus Paige leads the team with five assists.
