TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — At halftime of North Carolina’s matchup with Florida State at the Donald Tucker Center, the Tar Heels lead 33-31. Guard P.J. Hairston finished the first half with a game-high 11 points.
The Seminoles, who are looking to become 3-0 in the conference for the first time in program history, shot 48 percent from the field in the first half and are 5-for-11 from 3-point range. North Carolina shot 43 percent in the opening half, making 6 of 15 3-pointers. Hairston is 3-for-6 from behind the arc.
Having lost to Virginia and Miami last week, the Tar Heels are 0-2 in the conference for the first time since the 2008-09 season. UNC has lost its last two games against the Seminoles — a 90-57 rout in the Tucker Center a year ago, and again in the ACC Tournament championship game last season.
