Coral Gables — Since the opening minutes of North Carolina’s game against Miami, the Tar Heels have looked out of sorts.
Miami leads UNC 44-27 at halftime.
The Hurricanes jumped out to a 9-0 lead before UNC put its first points on the board. Junior guard Reggie Bullock scored the first points for UNC with a little less than three minutes into the game.
Senior Kenny Kadji kicked things off for the Hurricanes with a 3-pointer and ended the half in the same fashion.
Miami hit 10 of 16 3-point attempts, including four from sophomore guard Shane Larkin.
North Carolina tried a zone defense for three possessions, but gave up an offensive rebound and two 3-pointers before going back to a man-to-man defense.
P.J. Hairston came off the bench for UNC and leads his team with nine points on a three-for-five effort from behind the arc. Bullock added seven points.
After back-to-back 20-plus point performances from sophomore James Michael McAdoo, the forward has been held to just two points in the first half.
