GREENSBORO — At the midway point of the ACC Championship game, the Miami Hurricanes lead the North Carolina men’s basketball team 44-41.
Miami’s point guard Shane Larkin had a fantastic half as he racked up 15 points and dished out five assists. Trey McKinney Jones added 11 for the Hurricanes.
P.J. Hairston lead the way for the Tar Heels with 15 points of his own as he went four-for-seven from behind the 3-point line and had one 3-point play.
Marcus Paige had 10 first half points and Dexter Strickland handed out five assists.
The Hurricanes are shooting 55 percent from the floor and 58 percent from behind the arc while the Tar Heels are hitting 44 percent from the floor and 48 from deep.
Though the Hurricanes lead the points in the paint battle by 10 points, they only lead in the rebounding column by one. UNC has scored 11 points off Miami’s four turnovers.
