The No. 1 North Carolina field hockey team leads No. 15 Old Dominion 2-0 at the half.
Sophomore Emma Bozek scored both goals in the early minutes of the first half. Her first goal came about four minutes into the half after she deflected a ball from Megan Drake coming into the circle. The ball caught her stick on the left side of the cage, and it went sailing past ODU’s goalkeeper.
A few minutes later, Bozek scored again, catching a deflection off a save by the Old Dominion keeper. Senior Sinead Loughran set up the play, dribbling into the circle and then pulling out to set up the play.
UNC has taken nine shots to ODU’s one. The Tar Heels have recorded one save while the Lady Monarchs have two. UNC took two penalty corners while ODU took one.
