The No. 1 North Carolina field hockey team leads Radford 3-0 at halftime after 35 minutes of lopsided play.
Charlotte Craddock, Casey Di Nardo and Emily Wold scored a trio of goals for the Tar Heels (5-0) as UNC out-shot Radford 26-0. Radford goalkeeper Sidney Encarnacion served as her team’s tourniquet, making 11 saves as UNC peppered the Radford goalmouth.
Freshman goalkeeper Shannon Johnson remained largely unoccupied in the second start of her collegiate career. UNC held the lion’s share of possession and pinned Radford in their defensive half for the balance of the opening frame.
