It only took the No. 17 Clemson men’s soccer team one minute and four seconds to get on the board against the No. 6 North Carolina team.
Thomas McNamara took an early penalty after Jonathan Campbell was tagged with a handball inside UNC’s own 18 yard box.
UNC goal keeper Brendan Moore saved the initial shot, but the rebound went right back to McNamara and he put it away easily.
The remainder of the half was controlled by an aggressive Clemson team who put up six shots to North Carolina’s three.

The Tar Heels have had a few decent opportunities to tie the game, but each time a final pass or touch on the ball just wasn’t good enough to get in the back of the net.
