- Assistant Sports Editor Daniel Wilco writes that tight end Eric Ebron shined on an otherwise dark night for the North Carolina football team in its 27-23 loss to Miami last Thursday.
- ESPN.com’s Andrea Adelson gave Ebron an ACC helmet sticker after his record-setting performance against the Hurricanes.

- Led by a trio of Tar Heels, the men’s soccer team picked up its second consecutive win with a 1-0 defeat of Syracuse Friday, Senior Writer Robbie Harms writes.
- Bryan Frantz and Edgar Walker write that Casey Di Nardo and the North Carolina field hockey team’s offense exploded in a 5-2 win against Boston College this weekend.
- In just her first game back after being involved in a scooter accident, Abby Frey provide a spark for the Tar Heels against Boston College this weekend, Logan Ulrich writes.
- The UNC men’s swimming team had mixed results on a road trip to Texas this weekend, Brendan Marks writes.
