Welcome to another edition of Tracking the Tar Heels.
Let’s see what the Tar Heels have been up to:
- The North Carolina football team’s defense is out of sync, Senior Writer Michael Lananna writes. Lananna followed up a story from Sports Editor Brooke Pryor, who wrote that the UNC offense will face a tough secondary Virginia Tech secondary Saturday.
- UNC men’s tennis players Ronnie Schneider and Esben Hess-Olesen advanced to the main draw at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships, Hannah Lebowitz writes.
- Ben Coley writes that freshmen women’s tennis players Hayley Carter and Jamie Loeb have also earned a bid to the main draw in the 2013 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.
- North Carolina men’s basketball recruiting target James Blackmon is no longer considering the Tar Heels, and UNC recruit Rashad Vaughn — the nation’s top-ranked shooting guard in the 2014 class — has scheduled a visit to UNLV, Edgar Walker writes in this latest Future Heels blog post.
- Check out Turner Walston of GoHeels.com’s take on the UNC football team’s struggles on defense. Emily Fedewa, also of GoHeels.com, writes that senior defensive tackle and the Tar Heels are looking to move forward.
- Last but not least, in case you missed it, check out this week’s edition of Hark the Tweets where we give you our favorite tweets from UNC student athletes.
