No. 14 North Carolina leads Davidson 38-35 at the break in the Smith Center.
The Tar Heels shot 37.1 percent from the field, and only knocked down two 3-pointers in the first half. The Wildcats connected on 50 percent of their shots, including three of eight 3-pointers.
J.P. Tokoto, the only Tar Heels in double figures, leads all scorers with 14 points. Davidson has two players in double digits, Brian Sullivan with 13 and Jordan Barham with 11.
James Michael McAdoo has nine points and has made five of eight free throw attempts. McAdoo also corralled three rebounds and dished out a team-leading four assists.
After a poor free throw shooting performance against Texas, UNC has knocked down 10 of 16 attempts to Davidson’s two of six.
