Syracuse leads UNC 34-22 at the half

At a promising start, the North Carolina basketball team trails Syracuse 34-22 at the half.

The Tar Heels jumped out to a 15-11 lead early in the game, scoring 10 points off of five Syracuse turnovers in the opening minutes.

But the Orange pulled back in the game when C.J. Fair knocked down his first 3-pointer of the game with 10:34 left in the first to give Syracuse its first lead of the game. Fair’s bucket gave the Orange a lead it didn’t relinquish for the rest of the half.

James Michael McAdoo leads UNC with 10 points, all scored in the first eight minutes of the game. In the opening four minutes of the game, the Tar Heels made their first four shots and forced four turnovers.

But the final 10 minutes of the half were drastically different from the first. The Orange used a 10-0 run to take a 21-17 lead with 7:51 to play.

The Tar Heels appeared lifeless at times and were outhustled for most of final 10 minutes.

Jerami Grant and Fair, who both played the entire half, finished with 12 and 11 points respectively.
