Incoming freshman Avery Edwards charged with felony larceny

Avery Edwards, an incoming freshman tight end for the North Carolina football team, was arrested on May 23 at 3301 Hammond Road in Raleigh and charged with felony larceny, according to Wake County police reports. He appeared in court on Thursday.

Edwards recorded 45 receptions for 629 yards and seven touchdowns last season as a senior at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh.

ESPN.com ranked Edwards as the No. 22 tight end in the country and the No. 28 player in the state of North Carolina.
