North Carolina sophomore wide receiver Ryan Switzer was named to the first-team preseason All-ACC team on Wednesday as a return specialist.
Switzer was the lone Tar Heel selected to the team by the media. He is the first UNC player to be selected to the team as a return specialist since Brandon Tate in 2008.
As a freshman last season, Switzer tied the NCAA single-season record with five punt return touchdowns and enters this season three touchdowns short of the career record.
Switzer's impressive freshman season earned him first-team All-America honors — making him the first UNC true freshman to receive that recognition.
