Jalek Felton, a top-10 recruit from Mullins, South Carolina, committed to North Carolina on Tuesday — becoming the first commitment for Coach Roy Williams' 2017 class.
Felton, who is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound combo guard, is the nephew of former UNC point guard Raymond Felton, who led the Tar Heels to the 2005 national championship before departing for the NBA draft.
Felton, who is ranked by ESPN as the No. 7 overall prospect and No. 1 shooting guard for 2017, officially announced his verbal commitment to UNC via Twitter.
Felton was drawing interest from programs such as Kansas, Wichita State and Louisville among others.
Below is a video showcasing Felton's abilities.
