Hubert's injury is one of many that the Tar Heel basketball team has encountered this season, and the second ACL tear. Senior walk-on forward Sasha Seymore tore his ACL against Alabama-Birmingham Dec. 27.
Hubert, a 6-foot-10, 225-pound forward from Cream Ridge, N.J., has seen limited minutes this season with UNC's No. 12 ranked team, averaging just 3.9 minutes per game.
Hubert is best known for his defensive presence around the rim, and has taken just five shots this season in the 21 games he has played in. Of those, he has made two and gone 3-for-9 from the free throw line to score just seven points on the season.
In his time on the court, Hubert also brought down 22 rebounds (10 of which were offensive) and recorded one block.
