DTH picks of the week

Get ready for mayhem.

With six of the top seven pickers within three games of each other, DTH pride is on the line in a wild Week 7.

But success hasn't come easy for the leader of the desk.

After a strong start to the season, Sports Editor Pat James boasts the second-worst record since Week 3 — putting him as close to the bottom of the standings as to the top.

But a smug James draws inspiration from Alabama, who stumbled out of the gate before crushing the opposition.

"Sooner or later, I'll be back on my game, rolling over the competition and smiling as I do it," he said. "Roll Pat."

On the other end, Assistant Sports Editor Logan Ulrich has pulled himself from the cellar to within two games of the DTH crown.

But for Ulrich, the solution was simple.

"The teams I picked finally started getting the memo that they were supposed to win if I picked them," he said. "It's hard to pick the right team if that team ends up losing. In fact, It's almost impossible."

But reigning picks leader Brendan Marks isn't to be outdone. After finishing tied for first in Week 6, the senior writer remains one game atop the leaderboard.

But Week 6 might be his last.

"In addition to barely knowing who plays for who anymore, I'll be in Morocco this weekend as the games are being played," he said.

"If I don't come back, I'd like this to be on my headstone: 'Son. Friend. Accomplice. And the best picker of them all.'"

Even the deceased can lie.
