With his team set to play No. 1 Clemson tonight in the ACC Championship, North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora inked a new, seven-year deal according to ESPN.
Fedora has coached the Tar Heels to 11 straight wins and the school's first ever ACC Coastal Division championship. UNC's 11-1 record is its best since 1997 and the Tar Heels have a shot at a berth in the College Football Playoff if they beat Clemson tonight.
Fedora signed a seven-year deal when he was hired in 2012, and is 32-18 over his four seasons in Chapel Hill. The announcement comes after UNC also announced in November its plans to build an estimated $25 million indoor practice facility.
More details about Fedora's deal will be released as they come available.
